Drabble: Relatives
Because, oiy, I am going into writing withdrawal. It's too big a concept for 100 words, but it's almost more of a reminder now. *SIGH*

The servant girl is thin, but fair-skinned, blonde-haired, and blue-eyed. The clothes she wears are pale grays and whites, that only heighten the faint rose of her lips and the sapphire of her eyes.

Kessa watches her move about the room, pouring the tea with the silent grace found in years of training.

Her husband’s cousin pretends not to notice when Kessa takes the tea with a dark hand, and they talk around her as she stares into it with her black hair hiding her face.

If she’d not been immune, she could have been a twin to the servant.

Ture, but now that I know the character better, I can form more the the image produced by the drabble in my head.

Did you get the icon?

I don't have easy access to my email right now, if you mailed it... Is it posted/linked back in the post now? (I'm all disorganized by losing my accustomed disorganization.)

I emailed it since I don't have an easy place to upload it and then thus link to the post. No worries, I will stash the file here in case it needs futzing later,

Zankoo! I'm sure I'll get it safe and sound once the Big Mac is working again, and then I can upload it properly.

Writing withdrawl?

I'm so sorry...that's such an awful feeling. Even worse than being about to jump into a titanic, epic battle...but having to stop because your lunch break is over.

I took a deliberate break to get some distance so I could A) nap, and B) get perspective on a few scenes.

Now the Big Mac is unstable enough that I'm dubious about mucking with the files I need.

*sigh*

UGH! That really sucks.

Last time I had that issue, I cobbled together a new machine from spare parts...it worked, more or less...

Well, the probable fix will be to reinstall the system, and it should be fine. That takes Tech Support, though, and Tech Support won't be home till late and may not have the energy to do it till tomorrow.

(Theoretically I could boot off the other drive (which we regard as dubious but have forgotten why), and copy the file over. Of course, then I'd have to copy it back, yadda yadda, bleah. So I wait. And wrote a drabble.)

That's one reason I want to get a USB external HD. Then I could back up all of my files on it and use it on any computer I could get my hands on. It would also free up my internal HD for WarCrack expansions...

Well, a drabble seems like a good patch for the writing version of nicotine.

Hmmm...could they make a patch for getting over writer's block? Make a million bucks off that one...

She has at least two other working computers accessible, as well as booting the broken machine off the backup system drive, and the necessary files can also be gotten at. Apparently this is one of those things where the writer can't write if the favorite pen is out of ink... Or maybe its just excessive paranoia about the file or its copy getting out of sync somehow.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get actual writing done at some point!

Still need to come up with something plausible for the thing I can't talk about or else it'd be a spoiler.

Lol. Yes, but I have faith in Beth's abilities.

Don't tell her but I enjoy the non smut parts too. I should finish up my edits to Book 1...
